Hermits Use Late Surge to Win
Spirited fans greeted the Port Lincoln HS Trawlers for their clash with the Taitung HS Hermits.

The Taitung HS Hermits and the Port Lincoln HS Trawlers played into extra innings before the winner was determined. The Hermits won it, 8-6, in 11 innings. In the game, Taitung HS first baseman Hi-yuan Chong went 4 for 6 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 7 RBI and scoring once. En-lai Pao notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 1-1.

The game was all tied up in the top of the 11th, until Chong delivered big-time for Taitung HS, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Allen Guthrie. The game-changing hit put the Hermits on top, 8-6.

"We didn't go down without a fight," said Port Lincoln HS manager Marcos Sotelo.

Taitung HS is now 20-12, Port Lincoln HS 14-18.
