Gom 5-3 Winners Over Daegu
|
The Gohueng Gom topped the Daegu Dragons, 5-3, in Intercontinental Baseball Coalition action at Daegu Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Gohueng pitcher and Barcelona, Spain, native Gilberto Esquivel. Gohueng reliever Gilberto Esquivel got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Sugimoto Goto was tagged with the loss. The last-place Gom lifted their record to 11-20.
Gohueng used the hitting of Francis Frankland to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Gom on top, 3-0. For the game, Frankland had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We'll try to build on that win," Frankland told the Gohueng Daily.
