With 2-1 Win, Dragons Go to 12-12
|
Gimpo pitcher Brian Johnson gave the Dragons all they could handle, but in the end, Daegu left Daegu Ballpark with a win, 2-1. Johnson allowed 2 runs on 5 hits over 8 innings. Mark Miller earned his 7th save, after closing out the game. The Dragons, at 12-12, sit in 4th place in the Intercontinental Baseball Coalition Hanguk League.
The Gorillas had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Dragons going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 20-year old second baseman Costodio Boa came to the plate. Boa hit a solo home run on a 2-1 fastball from Gimpo hurler Brian Johnson. It was Boa's 6th home run of the year.
Boa attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."
