The Busan Whales topped the Jeonju Shamans, 5-2, in Intercontinental Baseball Coalition action at Jeonju Grounds. The standout performance belonged to Busan pitcher and Penticton, Canada, native Zhi-qiang Ec. Busan has won 5 consecutive games.
Busan used the timely hitting of Tak-hing Sun to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Whales on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Busan manager Jared Craig.
