Shamans Win at Sejong, 6-1
|
The Jeonju Shamans faced a tough opponent in Sejong pitcher Pi-ao Tsung, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Ballpark of Sejong by a final score of 6-1. Tsung went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Cheng-gong Xue got the win, improving to 2-1. He worked 5 innings, giving up 1 run on 4 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. The save went to Shumei Ito, his 2nd this season.
The Shamans got a big at-bat from shortstop Eduardo Muñóz. For the game, Muñóz was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the second, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Jeonju a 2-0 lead.
"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Muñóz told a Jeonju Citizen reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
Jeonju, now 10-6, has played well in the early going.
