Dragons Upend Gom, 3-1
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Daegu Dragons and Gohueng Gom.
Gohueng got a decent performance from pitcher Raúl Cruz, but it wasn't enough to beat the Daegu Dragons. Daegu won the Gohueng Grounds contest, 3-1. Cruz threw 9.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Valentino Martini, the winning pitcher, is now 1-1. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 8 hits, while fanning 2 and walking 2. Mark Miller was called on to finish, recording his 3rd save.
Daegu used the hitting of Ricky Curry to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the first inning to put the Dragons on top, 1-0. For the game, Curry had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Curry, "and then get after it again."
The loss drops the Gohueng record to a disappointing 3-7.
