Mack Stadium played host to some real drama.
The Hartford Harpoon had to overcome a good performance from West Virginia pitcher Manny Gracía to claim a 3-2 win at Mack Stadium. Gracía went 7 innings and allowed no runs. Ronaldo Hernández, the winner, improved to 9-17. He held the Alleghenies to 2 runs on 5 hits over 9 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 2.
Hartford got a knockout punch from Germão Ermito. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"What a buzz," said Ermito after it was over.
The Harpoon go to 76-80, putting them second in the Imperial League Seaboard.
