The Manchester Maulers downed the Arlington Bureaucrats, 6-5. The hitting star was left fielder John Dyer. Dyer was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Maulers. Manchester reliever Masami Kamihara picked up the win, while Timothy O'Slattery took the loss for Arlington. The win puts the Maulers at 67-86, while the Bureaucrats drop to 74-79.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the seventh, with the game tied, Richard Sosa was at the plate when Manchester scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Maulers to go in front, 6-5.
"We're trying to go out there and win games," Dyer told the Manchester Herald, "and we played pretty well tonight."
