Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Taipei Wardens and Fushigi Yugi Celestial Warriors.

The 6-5 Taipei win over Fushigi Yugi was due largely to Raúl Ibarra. The Wardens third baseman was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times. Van Frazier snagged the win in relief. He goes to 3-5 on the season. Álex Gallegos suffered the loss.

Taipei used the timely hitting of Jesús Jiménez to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Wardens on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Whenever I help the team," said Jiménez, "I feel like I earned my paycheck."

The Wardens move to 53-54 with the win, while the Celestial Warriors drop to 41-66.
