Jones Shines in 8-6 Kure Win
The Kure Arsenal defeated the Taipei Wardens, 8-6, at Taipei Tianmu Baseball Stadium. Leading the charge for Kure was right fielder Jody Jones. He went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 7 RBI and scoring twice. Troy Rush was the winner. He's now 10-8. The loser was two-time All-Star Armando Rúbio. The 5th-place Arsenal lifted their record to 48-55.

With Kure leading 4-3 in the top of the eighth, Jones hit a forkball from Van Frazier for a grand slam home run. It was his 28th home run of the season and put the Arsenal ahead, 8-3.

"Jody has some easy pop," said Kure manager Jake Lee. "He's dangerous."
