Mules Get 4-3 Win Versus Sarnia Canada
|
Thanks in large part to second baseman Mario Puente, the Instituto Politecnico Nacional Mules beat the Sarnia Canada Baysiders, 4-3. Puente went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Ricardo Prieto, the winning pitcher, improved to 3-3. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 5 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 1. The save went to Vicente Rivas, his 6th this season.
Early in the game, Puente had a 3-run home run for Instituto Politecnico Nacional. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Mules on top, 3-0.
Instituto Politecnico Nacional manager Pablo Rojas praised his team's "energy."
The win puts the Mules at 15-16, while the Baysiders drop to 14-17.
