Kuwana Dealt 2-0 Defeat
|
Despite the rain, the fans at Newark Grounds enjoyed a good ballgame.
Right-hander Han-soo Kim mesmerized the Kuwana Steel Dragons while leading the Edo Battousai to a 2-0 victory. The Battousai saw their win-loss record go to 46-36. At the same time, the Steel Dragons fell to 47-35.
The Steel Dragons had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Battousai going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 39-year old first baseman Norberto Escamilla came to the plate. Escamilla hit a solo home run on a 2-2 fastball from Kuwana hurler Hyo-cheong Pak. It was Escamilla's 22nd home run of the year.
Escamilla attributed the win to "making big pitches in big moments."
