Black Bears Pick Up 2-0 Win
|
Chatham-Kent Canada picked up a win at Terrors Ballpark, bumping off the Hamilton Canada Terrors, 2-0. Pitcher Dennis Clark was a major reason the Black Bears emerged victorious. The save went to Jerry Henshaw, his 2nd this season. The first-place Black Bears now have a win-loss record of 15-10.
Chatham-Kent Canada used a well-timed hit by Stu Gilder to capture the win. The shortstop socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Black Bears ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"When you are able to locate the ball, good things are going to happen," said Clark.
