Windsor Canada and Pontificia Universidad played a hard-fought contest.
The Windsor Canada Goths nipped the Pontificia Universidad Padres, 2-1, at Pointers Ballpark. Windsor Canada pitcher Clint Saslove, in particular, starred. In 6.2 innings, Saslove surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. He allowed no runs.
Bob Tilly, who is tied for 4th in the AL in triples with 2, had a direct impact on the outcome. Tilly contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put Windsor Canada up, 2-0.
"I made a lot of good pitches," said Saslove. "I was right where I wanted to be."
Windsor Canada, at 14-12, occupies second place in the Atlantic League Ontario Division.
