The Bakersfield Bears took Crystal Lake pitcher António Cuevas's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The Oaks at Aera Field. The final score had Bakersfield getting past the Sandgnats, 3-2. Cuevas went 5 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 5. Bakersfield, with the win, sits at 26-57.

The decisive blow was delivered by Doug Knox in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 12-year veteran Kahsay Seif to win the game for Bakersfield. The home crowd went nuts.

"This wasn't a good win," said Knox. "It was a great win."
