Light Blues Lose to Windsor Canada, 3-0
|
Windsor Canada designated hitter Jeffrey Potvin made his presence felt in the 3-0 Goths triumph over the Cambridge Light Blues. Potvin went 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Clint Saslove picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed no runs on 3 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 3. On the season, he is now 3-0. The defeat makes Cambridge 14-8.
Bob Tilly had a big solo home run for the Goths in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Windsor Canada leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he got a fastball from 19-year old left-handed pitcher Bill Pinhay and swatted a home run to right-center. It was his 4th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Goths ahead, 2-0.
Potvin attributed the win to his team's "tenacity."
