The Medicine Hat Drillers and starting pitcher Haranobu Taniguchi stifled the Toronto offense en route to a comfortable 8-2 win at Medicine Hat Municipal Stadium. The last-place Drillers now have a win-loss record of 33-60.

With one out in the bottom of the first, Hayden Hayes put Medicine Hat in front, 3-0, with a 2-run single. The Drillers went on to win the ballgame.

"They just got us," said Toronto manager Yvon Valcourt, "and that's all I can say."
