Drillers Bang Out 7-3 Win Versus Red Deer
|
Ricardo Cantú was superb against Red Deer. The left-hander, who is tied for 2nd in the PCAL in strikeouts with 132, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Drillers victory. The score was 7-3. Takashi Nakai earned the save, his 13th in 18 tries. At 32-59, the Drillers claim last place in the Pacific Alliance Wild Rose.
The Drillers got a big at-bat from shortstop Ángel Noriega. For the game, Noriega was 1-5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Medicine Hat a 3-0 lead.
"That's what this team is about," said Cantú, "picking each other up."
