Frenchies Beat Visiting Mall Ratz, 5-2
|
Quebec City Frenchies starter Carlos Macías was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Edmonton Mall Ratz, 5-2. Macías yielded 1 run over 8.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 6-9. The 5th-place Frenchies now have a record of 43-48.
The Frenchies got a big at-bat from right fielder Zhi-qiang Zou. For the game, Zou was 2-4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 26th double of the season gave Quebec City a 1-0 lead.
"We understand we didn't play our best baseball," said losing manager Ramón Arroyo. "We'll shower it off and be ready to compete."
