The Calgary Stampede beat the Medicine Hat Drillers, 1-0. Calgary pitcher and Temple Terrace, Florida, native Jimmy Johnston led the way. The Stampede now have a record of 41-48 with the win over Medicine Hat.
Johnston imposed his will on the Drillers, scattering 2 hits over 7.1 innings while striking out 9. The right-hander upped his season record to 3-0.
