In a low-scoring game between Sherwood Park and Calgary, pitcher Tom MacEwen was excellent. The Sherwood Park left-hander helped his team knock off the Stampede, 3-0. MacEwen, the winner, moves to 2-2. He threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 5 walks. Denny Jones was called on to finish, recording his 4th save.

Juan Álvarez had a big 2-run home run for the Hoods in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Sherwood Park leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a slider from Víctor Fuentes, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2039 draft, and swatted a home run to left. It was his 8th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hoods ahead, 3-0.

"It's nice to get the results when you're feeling good and throwing the ball well," said MacEwen after the game.

The Hoods win now puts them at 30-55.
