Phantoms Rally Late to Clip Gatineau
|
The inspired effort of Gatineau second baseman Dave Hickey was not enough to prevent a loss, 5-4, to the Toronto Phantoms. Hickey went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. The winner in relief was Kenji Yokota. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 4-2. The Phantoms win now puts them at 42-44.
Juan Carlos Orozco drew 2 walks for Toronto. The 24-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring walk off Pat Vega. It was his 30th walk of the season.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Orozco.
