Phantoms Sneak By Islanders, 2-1
|
Toronto Phantoms starter Raymond Ammacapane turned in a sparkling performance against the Laval Islanders, leading his team to a 2-1 win. Galterio Caccio recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 13 for 16. Toronto has won 3 straight, while Laval has lost 5 in a row.
Anzai Tanaka delivered a big hit for Toronto. The first baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Phantoms ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"Not enough offensively in a winnable game," said losing manager Ken Tuttle.
