The Sherwood Park Hoods got a superb performance from pitcher Miguel Alvarado, but the Edmonton Mall Ratz still won the game, 4-3. Alvarado threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. Edmonton reliever Derrek Christensen picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Denny Jones took the loss. With the win, Edmonton goes to 40-41, while the Hoods fall to 29-52.

Michael Rasmussen was the walk-off hero for Edmonton. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Mall Ratz left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We won," Rasmussen told assembled media after the game. "I guess that's all that really matters."
