The Yuma Arroyos took on the Kalamazoo Badgers at Portage Park.
Starting pitcher Elio Polandi pitched well enough to help the Yuma Arroyos beat the Kalamazoo Badgers, 4-3. Yuma reliever Aurelio Suárez picked up the win, upping his record to 4-9. Jay Taylor was saddled with the loss. Terrence Brown locked down his 16th save.
Freddy Morales came through with a big-time hit for Yuma. The catcher smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"When Elio's on, he's on," said Yuma manager Kiyohisa Takeda.
Yuma, at 30-51, holds down 5th place in the Sovereign League Desert Hills.
