The rain did not keep Union City HS and Annapolis HS from finishing their game.

Led by 15-year-old Ron Helton, the Union City HS Hillers knocked off the Annapolis HS Jaguars, 7-2. Helton went 2-4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Hillers. Bobby Pearson earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 2-0.

With Union City HS leading 2-0 in the bottom of the second, Helton hit a changeup from Javier Carrión for a 3-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Hillers ahead, 5-0.

"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Union City HS manager Troy Sparks.
