Big Day for De La Cruz as Hillers Down Jaguars, 13-11
Union City HS & Athletic Complex hosted a classic slugfest.

The Union City HS Hillers beat the Annapolis HS Jaguars in a game in which both teams scored early and often. The final score was 13-11, Hillers. One of the hitting stars was center fielder Clarence De La Cruz. De La Cruz was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. Union City HS reliever Chris Stanford got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Claude Dempsey was tagged with the loss. Don Williams notched his 15th save of the season.

In the bottom of the sixth, De La Cruz put his team in front with his 5th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came against Claude Dempsey, made it 9-6, Union City HS.

"They're fun to watch and the hitters get to pad their stats but nobody's really happy about a game like that," Union City HS manager Troy Sparks. "I promise you I'm not happy."

Union City HS bumps their record to 32-14 with the win.
