Spartans Use Late Rally to Win
The Mobile Christian HS Cheetahs could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Hollis Taylor into a win. Instead, the South Caldwell HS Spartans prevailed, 5-3, in 10 innings. Taylor threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. David Tucker, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. At 26-17, South Caldwell HS is in second place in the Eastern League Atlantic Conference.

The decisive blow was delivered by Michael Woods in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a 2-run home run off 16-year old right-handed pitcher Matt Thompson to win the game for South Caldwell HS. The home crowd went nuts.

"We're not trying to lose games," Mobile Christian HS manager Mathew Anderson said. "We're working as hard as we can every single day to win ballgames."
