Akira 8-3 Losers to Zephyrs
|
Reno defeated Neo-Tokyo, 8-3, in large part due to 27-year old first baseman Kenkichi Daikawa. Daikawa drove in 3 runs. The designated hitter had 1 double and 1 home run for the Zephyrs. Reno reliever Andrés Pérez picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Michael Arnold took the loss. The 4th-place Zephyrs lifted their record to 43-38.
In the bottom of the seventh, the Zephyrs grabbed the lead when Daikawa hit his 9th double of the season. The 2-run double off Michael Arnold made it 4-3, Reno.
"It was a tough day, no getting around it," said losing manager David Bell.
