Borealis Beat Sandgnats, 4-0
|
The Aurora Borealis picked up a win at Northern Lights Park, knocking off the Crystal Lake Sandgnats, 4-0. Starting pitcher Armando Batista was a big reason why. Héctor Gutiérrez earned the save for Aurora, his 20th. The Borealis move to 43-38 with the win, while the Sandgnats drop to 45-36.
In the bottom of the third, former first round draft pick Hideki Nishikawa hit a 2-run home run. The 12th home run of the season for the Aurora right fielder put the Borealis on top, 2-0.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Nishikawa.
