Celestial Warriors Suffer 3-1 Setback
Dani Montés was nothing short of phenomenal for the Taipei Wardens. The 34-year-old right-hander was a big reason his team beat the Fushigi Yugi Celestial Warriors, 3-1. Montés picked up the win for Taipei, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 3-2. Alfonso Maldonado finished to wrap up his 7th save.

Jeff Jenkins, who finished 4th in the TRI in triples with 7 last year, took Fushigi Yugi hurler Mal Cooper deep in the bottom of the fifth. His 2-run home run put the Wardens on top, 3-1. In all, Jenkins had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped Fushigi Yugi manager Van Landrigan. "Obviously."

For the Celestial Warriors, the loss makes their record 11-20.
