Win Makes Gwangju 15-14
|
Juan Guerrero never let the Battousai get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his splitter, to pitch the Jade Tigers to a win, 4-1. Alex Morris earned the save for Gwangju. The win puts Gwangju at 15-14.
Jeff Stone had a big run-scoring double for the Jade Tigers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Gwangju leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Santiago Sandoval, who is tied for 3rd in the TRI in strikeouts with 37, and swatted a double to center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Jade Tigers ahead, 2-0.
Stone called the win a test of his team's "mettle."
