Wardens Tag Steel Dragons with 3-2 Loss
|
The Taipei Wardens picked up a win at Taipei Tianmu Baseball Stadium, knocking off the Kuwana Steel Dragons, 3-2. On the mound for Taipei was right-hander Dani Montés. He played a key role in the triumph. Alfonso Maldonado earned the save for Taipei. Kuwana, with the loss, is 14-12.
Raúl Ibarra had a big solo home run for the Wardens in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Taipei leading 2-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from two-time All-Star Yasuhide Yasuda and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Wardens on top, 3-0.
"I just kind of blacked out and executed my pitches," said Montés.
