Celestial Warriors Top Battousai in Extras, 6-4
|
The Fushigi Yugi Celestial Warriors used the hitting of first baseman Alec Woodford to subdue the Edo Battousai, 6-4, in 13 innings. For the game, Woodford went 3 for 6 with a home run, a triple, and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Edo falls to 16-10.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 13th. With one out, Woodford hit a fastball from Akira Uchida for a 2-run home run. The Celestial Warriors, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
Woodford told a Fushigi Yugi Daily reporter that he felt "ecstatic" after the win.
