West Lauderdale HS Knights starter Bob Hurley was in fine form. He led his team to victory over the Blanchard HS Ligers, 2-0. Hurley got the win, improving to 4-1. He gave up 4 hits and walked 1 over 6.2 innings. He allowed no runs. Don Cole finished to wrap up his 12th save.

The Ligers had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Knights going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 19-year old first baseman Peter Calhoun came to the plate. Calhoun hit a run-scoring double on a 2-1 fastball from Blanchard HS hurler Jake Haney. It was Calhoun's 5th double of the year.

"We found a way to win tonight," Calhoun said.

The win makes West Lauderdale HS 21-21.
