Hornets Suffer 3-1 Loss to Spartans

The South Caldwell HS Spartans used a great performance from Manuel Ramírez, who is tied for 7th in the EL with a 1.66 ERA, to beat the Bishop Moore HS Hornets, 3-1, at Ballpark of Bishop Moore HS. Greg Williams earned the save for South Caldwell HS, his 10th of the year. The Spartans improved their record to 25-17 with the win over Bishop Moore HS.
It could have been a different outcome for South Caldwell HS, had it not been for Michael Woods, the 17-year old third baseman . Woods contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put South Caldwell HS up, 2-0.
"I was able to fill up the zone," said Ramírez.
