The DeSoto Central HS Panthers beat the Annapolis HS Jaguars, 6-4, at Ballpark of Anapolis HS. José Lópes starred for DeSoto Central HS. He was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. Arturo Radríguez collected his 15th save. The Panthers sit in first place in the Eastern League Gulf Conference with a record of 26-16.

DeSoto Central HS used a big swing from Ron Kelley to get the win. The designated hitter walloped a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Panthers up, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it changed the outcome.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Lópes.
