Big Day by Aldridge Ignites Hillers Win
The Union City HS Hillers cut down the Sarasota HS Sailors by the score of 12-8, with the largest share of the credit going to left fielder Ralph Aldridge. Aldridge was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for the Hillers. The winner in relief was Luke Lee. The right-hander allowed 3 runs on 4 hits in 2.1 innings. He now owns a record of 3-1. Paul Danagher was credited with the save for Union City HS, his 1st of the season.

Walt Owens had a big 2-run home run for the Hillers in the bottom of the third inning. With Union City HS leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from 18-year old right-handed pitcher Lorne Powell and swatted a home run to center. It was his 6th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hillers ahead, 4-1.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Hillers manager Troy Sparks.
