Bobcats Chop Down Knights, 7-1
|
The Cy-Fair HS Bobcats knocked off the West Lauderdale HS Knights, 7-1, at Cy-Fair HS Grounds. Bill Reid was a big reason Cy-Fair HS won. The right fielder went 1 for 1 with a home run and 3 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Michael Scott, the winning pitcher, is now 3-2. He went 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits, while fanning 2 and walking 2. Cy-Fair HS sits in third place in the Eastern League Deep South Conference at 21-17.
Norm Norwood hit a 2-run home run off Robert Allen in the bottom of the first, which put the Bobcats ahead, 2-0. In addition to the homer, Norwood had 1 double, while going 2 for 3.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Reid.
