Brawlers Handle West Lauderdale HS, Snag 6-1 Win
|
The Carrollton HS Brawlers defeated the West Lauderdale HS Knights, 6-1, in Eastern League action at Ballpark of West Lauderdale HS. Carrollton HS pitcher John Norton had a standout performance. Norton got the win, improving to 3-1. He gave up 3 hits and walked 4 over 5.1 innings. He allowed no runs. The Brawlers go to 11-23, putting them last in the Eastern League Gulf Conference.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Ray Baker? The Carrollton HS first baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Brawlers on top, 2-0. For the game, Baker had 1 double and 1 single in 6 at-bats.
