Buccaneers Dumped, 3-0, by Winter Springs HS

The Winter Springs HS Bears picked up a win at Field of the Bears, taking down the Barbe HS Buccaneers, 3-0. Starting pitcher Frank Rivera was a big reason why. The save was credited to Bill Starks, his 7th. Winter Springs HS is in 4th place in the Eastern League Gulf Conference with a record of 18-16.
Jon Baker had a big solo home run for the Bears in the bottom of the third inning. With Winter Springs HS leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from 18-year old left-handed pitcher Ben Schultz and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Bears on top, 2-0.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Winter Springs HS manager Anthony Roy. "It's usually not just one thing."
