Knights Lose at Home, 8-6
|
The Moody HS Trojans stopped the West Lauderdale HS Knights, 8-6, at Ballpark of West Lauderdale HS. The Trojans got a big game from Eric Moyer, who went 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Ángel Méndez earned the win for Moody HS. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 1-3. Theodore Owens closed it out for his 8th save.
In the top of the seventh, the Trojans grabbed the lead when Moyer hit his 9th home run of the season. The 3-run home run off Carroll Hill made it 6-4, Moody HS.
"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Moyer told the Moody HS Daily.
Moody HS is now 14-15, West Lauderdale HS 14-15.
