Wardens Stick Celestial Warriors with 7-5 Loss
The Taipei Wardens spoiled a good performance by Fushigi Yugi designated hitter Bruce Schneider, bumping off Fushigi Yugi, 7-5, at Brown Bears Ballpark. Schneider was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Alfonso Maldonado earned his 1st save, after closing out the game. Fushigi Yugi now is 7-10.

Taipei used a well-timed hit by José Castillo to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Wardens ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"I hate to be the fly in the ointment," said Castillo, "but we could've played better."
