Enrique Gonzáles, who finished 5th in the TRI in wins with 13 last year, propelled his team to victory over the Taipei Wardens. The final score was 5-4, Kure. Gonzáles, the winner, moves to 2-0. He threw 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 2 walks. The save went to Joo-young Paek, number 2 for him.

Kure used the clutch hitting of Mao Ma to snag the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Arsenal ahead, 5-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," said Ma. "But I like how we're playing right now."
