Oliver, Oilers Finish Off Orcas, 6-1
|
The Long Beach Oilers picked up a win at Ballpark of Queens, knocking off the Victoria Orcas, 6-1. Starting pitcher Víctor Oliver was a big reason why. The Oilers, at 69-93, inhabit last place in the Humboldt.
Oliver, who dominated for Long Beach, earned the victory to move to 5-0. He was in control the whole game, scattering 3 hits over 9 innings, while striking out 6. Victoria batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"My job is to go out and execute," said Oliver.
