Portland beat Sacramento on the strength of starting pitcher Bruce Lewis's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Joe Hawkins earned the save for Portland, his 30th. With the victory, the Chinook record stands at 79-67.

The Chinook got a big at-bat from designated hitter Luis Bautista. For the game, Bautista was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 32nd home run of the season gave Portland a 4-3 lead.
