The Sacramento Deltas picked up a win at Kauffman Stadium, knocking off the Portland Chinook, 5-3. Starting pitcher Martin Allen played a key role in the triumph. With the win, the Deltas sit at 80-65.

Sacramento used a clutch at-bat from Felipe Ríos to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Deltas ahead, 5-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"I think it speaks for itself, I think we came out and we played our kind of baseball," said Allen.
