Orcas Post 7-3 Win
|
Victoria pitcher Allen Etter did his part in helping his team beat the Portland Chinook, 7-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Victoria has run its win streak to 5 consecutive.
Jayson Gray had a big 3-run home run for the Orcas in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Victoria leading 3-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he sized up a changeup from Ricardo Rico, who finished 4th in the HUM in strikeouts with 166 in 2038, and punished it. The result was his 21st home run of the season, which put the Orcas on top, 6-1.
Gray attributed the win to his team's "collective resolve."
