The Sacramento Deltas picked up a win at Devils Ballpark, knocking off the Portland Chinook, 3-1. On the mound for Sacramento was right-hander Carlos Hernández. He played a key role in the triumph. Blaine Julien was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 24 of 27 save opportunities. The Deltas bumped their record to 73-57 with this win.

The Deltas got a big at-bat from center fielder Yong-hyun Sang. For the game, Sang was 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 31st double of the season gave Sacramento a 3-1 lead.

"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Hernández.
