Tigers Beat Ligers, 3-2, at Tigers Ballpark

Katy HS center fielder Steven Burke played a vital role in his team's 3-2 conquest of Blanchard HS. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs for Katy HS. John Wilson, who went 5.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 5 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 1. His record now stands at 3-1. Edgar Flores closed it out for his 7th save.
With Katy HS leading 2-1 in the bottom of the second, Burke hit a fastball from Stephen Malone for a solo home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Tigers ahead, 3-1.
"You have to win 1-0, 3-2, 2-1 games if you want to get to where you want to go," said Tigers manager Fernando Guerrero.
The loss makes Blanchard HS 14-11.
